Reed Method
Although I would hardly consider myself a “reed smith”, I do try to be consistent when breaking in reeds. I feel that they last longer and maintain consistency throughout its life.
Microtonal Etude Book
It was my junior year of my undergraduate degree that I became fascinated with extended techniques (I know, this phrase is totally passé!) for clarinet. It was that year that I attended my very first new music festival with my teacher and got to hear so many inspiring pieces and performers. I remember speaking with one of the performers about microtones and how did he practice them. “Well, you know how you practice scales every day?” he asked. “I practice microtonal scales as well.” That statement has stuck with me since then and was the inspiration behind writing this method book.
Love to hear what you think about this etude book!
